Pilsen freestyle 2017

Pilsen is Czech city well known because of its brewery and tasty beer named after the city – Pilsen. Kayakers know it not only because of the famous beer, but also because of their freestyle playspot which was build a few years ago and is situated right after an old mill. The river is flowing through a narrow channel right from the mill and at the end there is a hydraulic construction which creates the hole. Water is falling from 1,5m high to the pool and creates a big and powerful hole. Local kayakers organize this freestyle event every year but we couldn’t make it there in the last three years, because it never matched our schedule. I remember it as a difficult hole where you have to be very fast and use all your strength to perfom your moves. Anyway the scores there use to be a bit lower as on the other playspots. After packing our car we drove on Thursday night to Pilsen. On Friday we did some trainings and on Saturday we joined the feesyle competition. It was our first freestyle event of this year. I struggled with my rides but at the end I was able to score enough points to get first place. Peter paddled very good and his solid rides put him onto first position without hesitation. After this successful wekend we started our freestyle competiton seasson with doule victory. I hope the rest of the seasson will follow in similar mode :D

Wish us luck!
