Mountain Biking

adiridas on mtb safari

Early this year, adiridas Andrew Taylor, Phil Sundbaum, Joscha Forstreuter and Mads André Haugen made a journey out of the ordinary. Together with Hans Rey,   his wife Carmen, photographer Sven Martin and videographer Aaron Lutze they went on a safari free-riding trip in southern Africa. Herds of elephant, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, and antelope were not the only game that crossed their paths…

“Hey guys, wait, I’ve got another flat!” Hans swears and gets off his bike. It’s his third flat tire. And he is not even heading the list of most flats in one day…  Joscha, Andrew, Mads and Phil find a place in the shade. At 42° Celsius nobody wants to roast in the sun. Joe, their ranger, takes the rifle off his back. His eyes search the surrounding bushes for movement. “Hist!”. Joe signs to be quiet and points to the shrubs ahead. From one second to another they appear: a heard of elephants, beautiful giants that move majestically through the thicket. The guys hold their breath. “How did you know they were coming”, Joscha whispers. The ranger grins. “I can sense them.” Phil knits his brows. “I wonder what else is hiding behind the bushes. I think we are the ones being watched.”
