Kayaking and Surfing - Mat´s trip from Mexico to Colorado
It's been an epic trip to Mexico again. I've been travelling around the country for two months and a half, and I could discover more about this amazing country every day. The Mexican wilderness has a lot to offer for outdoor lovers like us.
I've been kayaking in the Vera Cruz state for quite a month, enjoying the local rivers and exploring the area to write articles for our French kayak magazine, to show what the area has to offer.
Then as the water level was pretty low and paddlers were missing the call around Tlapacoyan Vera Cruz, I went to the Pacific coast, to the Oaxaca state to do some surfing. Surfing became my second passion after kayaking, because of the unique contact you've got with the water, and the amazing fitness it provides. It makes your back and shoulders very strong and helps you to develop your skills with water. Because of all this and the passion of outdoor, water and travelling, I spent a month and a half exploring the Oaxaca surf spots, getting into the ocean atmosphere and preparing the kayak season in my own way.
I found amazing people there, new kind of water rules and another approach of water experience. Overall it was an unforgettable session.
But now it's time to get back to my first love: kayaking. I'll be off to Denver, Colorado tomorrow, and on May 19th to Buena Vista for the start of the Colorado tour. This tour of competition will start next week, and I'm so fired up to go there and enjoy the amazing mountains of CO, the incredibly high level of competition and the friendly atmosphere of this tour.
Soon more about those competitions!
