Sasha DiGiulian climbs “Pure Imagination”

Mid-October, 19-year-old Sasha DiGiulian managed to climb the route “Pure Imagination” in Kentucky’s Red River Gorge. “Pure Imagination” is rated 5.14d (French: 9a), and with this achievement Sasha officially is the second women who successfully climbed a route at this level of difficulty - and the first American woman at all. What´s even more impressive is the fact that she sent a route of this difficulty in just six tries. Keith Ladzinski and Andy Mann were at hand to witness and film the entire ascent and Ladzinski told us: "It was amazing to see, she fought up the route in a dead silent forest, it was pretty surreal. Andy Mann and I were rolling video trying to keep quiet, it was intense running the camera and seeing her make history."
